The Ballistic Edge (TBE) was founded to provide the
most current and advanced training possible to our
military, law-enforcement, and security
professionals. Unlike many other sniper training
courses that simply repeat old, tired anecdotes and
outdated, erroneous information which has become
“urban legend,” The Ballistic Edge presents the
newest, cutting-edge techniques based on hard
science and research.
Our courses specifically address the real-world
demands of today’s tactical environment, which
requires snipers to be capable of adaptive tactics
as well as precise planned response. Our training
plans and objectives are built around “lessons
learned” from law-enforcement and military
professionals around the world, and are taught by a
staff of highly knowledgeable former military and
police special operations professionals.
The Ballistic Edge teaches proprietary data
collection and diagnostic procedures using
inexpensive commercially available items to ensure
maximum weapon performance and repeatability. TBE
has also pioneered a new ballistics calculation
methodology based on extensive independent research
which invalidates older “rule of thumb" formulas.
This calculation technique does not require computer
use in the field, yet is more accurate than external
ballistic computer software (PDA’s) and is easily
done without such tools. Temperature, altitude,
slope are all addressed easily using the TBE method.
The Ballistic Edge has also conducted extensive
research into the effects of maintenance on bore
condition and repeatable accuracy. Metallurgy and
internal ballistics factors can have major effects
on accuracy under varying conditions. Our optimized
maintenance procedures will help keep you on target,
from the first shot to the last.
